Marketing united template preview

This blog post template makes your weekly team updates easy, keeping all marketers up to date on the progress across the department and around the globe. It offers a summary of all team progress, more details on each development, and an area for one team member to stand in the spotlight. The template can be adapted and adopted by any team, so use it to keep your company in the know about yours.

How to use the marketing united template

  1. 1

    Deep thoughts of the week

The template starts off with an area for your leader to share their insights about the state of the team, the company, new learnings, or anything else that is top of mind. If you’re the guest commentator (more on that in a bit), add your leader’s thoughts here. Some topics may include strategy updates, quotes, take-aways from events, etc.

  2. 2

    Updates in a snapshot

The Marketing snapshot section is where your guest commentator offers a high-level overview of all the happenings across the team. At Atlassian, we have a separate blog post page where anyone in the marketing org can add highlights from their team each week. The guest commentator uses this page to create the high-level overview for the marketing snapshot.

The guest should add their photo here so everyone can see who is authoring the snapshot this week. Below the overview, include updates for each team within your larger organization. Our team likes to get creative; some members have used haikus, gifs, songs, emojis, rhymes, and fun formats to offer an update while showing off their personalites.

  3. 3

    About your guest commentator

Let’s add some color to the guest commentator aspect of this template. At Atlassian, each week we invite someone from our team to summarize all the updates from across the department, as explained above. We also ask that person to fill out the About me section so everyone knows who they are and a bit about them. This is our way (and now yours) to help build connections across our teams and underpin our Open culture.

  4. 4

    Provide reference docs

Your coworkers across the company may want to know more about what your team is up to, so add in additional information such as your strategies, goals, and more in the References section. You can also link to your marketing and social media channels to encourage everyone to like and follow, your calendar, any other big announcements.
