AMP: the Agentic Multiplayer Protocol
AMP is the collection of human-centric experiences, technologies, and patterns that shape how humans and agents work together on and off the Atlassian Platform.
Built for scale, with humans at the center
AMP’s three interconnected layers help people and agents work together, with people accountable for the calls that matter and agents keeping work moving.
Real-time and async collaboration
Agents work alongside where and how you already work. Brief an agent with a Loom video, @mention one in a Confluence page, or via MCP, let them move work forward between Atlassian and other tools in your stack.
Identity and shared presence
Context and governance

Identity and shared presence
Context and governance
The same ways you love to work, now with new teammates
AMP brings people and agents together in the flow of work across pages, tickets, chats, and code, with the shared context to understand, collaborate, and act.

Live editing
Multi-cursor editing where humans and agents draft, refine, and structure content together across pages, code, and whiteboards.

Conversations
Tag in expert agents to run reports, generate briefs, or publish release notes right where conversation happens.

Workflows
Assign Jira work items or embed agents in automation workflows to handle multi-step tasks independently, from IT triage to content publishing.

Local sessions
Stream CLI, terminal, and IDE agent sessions into the Teamwork Graph and Jira boards, so work done in a local harness stays visible to the whole team.

Shared context
Share rich context from Loom transcripts, Confluence pages, or Jira boards to supported external agents, just as you would a teammate.

Video prompts
Capture audio and visual context with Loom’s Record for agent to brief and instruct any internal or external agent on what to do.
Powered by the Platform
AMP includes a secure and safe technology stack for running governed agent interactions on the Atlassian Platform and connects agents to the tools that run outside it.
Agent identity
Every agent has its own identity. Agent run modes let them act with a person's permissions or through their own dedicated agent account, and actions are fully attributable in audit logs.

Agent registration and visibility
Manage every agent from one place. Register an agent once and choose where it shows up, whether that's a Jira board, Confluence page, Rovo Chat, or an external tool. Decide who can find and use it, and see how it is being used across the platform.
Context and permissions
The Teamwork Graph gives agents and connected tools context through Atlassian MCP, the Teamwork Graph CLI, and A2A. Admin Hub controls, Atlassian Guard, data protection policies, and audit logs govern that access so agents only get what people and policies allow.

Context that travels with every kind of team
Great teamwork relies on shared knowledge: past decisions, project history, previous owners. The Teamwork Graph gives every teammate, human or agent, the context behind the work, grounded in your organization's memory.
An open ecosystem for every agent combination
Built for an open, multi-vendor world, AMP supports agents on or off the Atlassian platform. Tag in external agents, or use Atlassian MCP to bring the platform where you work, with shared context, governance, and visibility.
No-code agents
Build custom agents, automations, skills, and apps tailored to your workflows using natural language with Rovo Studio.
Custom code on Forge
Build on the Atlassian platform with Forge, or use Forge Remote to build agents that run on infrastructure outside Atlassian.
Connect external agents
Bring your external apps and agents like Figma, Claude, or Cursor into the Atlassian Platform, or interact with the platform via other AI clients
