Connecting external data sources

If you have any Atlassian products with a Cloud Enterprise plan, you can also connect to data sources outside Atlassian and blend your Atlassian data with external data sources for richer insights. Compare development and IT metrics with important business data, including revenue, user experience, resource allocation, financial projects, and more!

Enhanced data access and permissions

Control what data sets you want to include or exclude for analysis. Configure whether to include all data or only limited data to exclude sensitive information.

Including all data gives you access to more detailed, human-readable content and dashboard templates with more robust information for your analysis needs.

Examples of detailed content Examples of descriptive data
  • issue summaries
  • page titles
  • descriptions
  • attachments
  • created dates
  • issue numbers
  • issue type ID
  • project ID

Permissions also include access to which users and teams can query data. You can give anyone who has access to both an Enterprise product and Atlassian Analytics the ability to query data or restrict this capability to specific users.

Bring your Atlassian data into your environment and tools

Use the reporting tools and internal workflows your teams are already familiar with. With data shares, you can read and export your Jira data directly to your environment and BI tools. As an organization admin, you can create and manage data shares in Atlassian Analytics.

Creating a data share

Data shares use the Databricks Delta Sharing protocol to connect your Jira data to other third-party tools that support this protocol. At this moment, data shares support Jira, Jira Product Discovery, and Jira Service Management with plans to expand to other Atlassian products.
