Cloud app investments that address today’s challenges

We’ve focused our feature enhancements around three core values designed to address your most pressing business needs:

1. Connected cloud apps, built to work together:

  • Reimagined core Jira experiences
  • New Confluence content types and automations
  • JSM enterprise asset management, HRSM, AIOps

2. Enterprise grade security, compliance, and scale: We continue to invest in the security, governance, and performance enterprise customers expect — helping you minimize risk, support your compliance, and future-proof your tech stack.

3. Intelligent data layer powers automation, insights, and search: We help teams make smarter decisions faster, with better business outcomes by connecting siloed data across tools with Teamwork Graph.

Below you’ll find details on a few of the recent releases that support these goals. For a more extensive list of feature releases by app, select the app name in the left navigation bar.

Connected cloud apps, built to work together

Jira:

  • Public forms for work intake: Collect information and capture work in Jira from all stakeholders, including those without a Jira license. Jira and project admins (or users with project admin permissions) will be able to enable public access for new and existing forms in their business and software projects. Once a public form is shared, any visitor to the form will be able to make a submission, regardless of their Jira licensing.
  • Issue renaming: Instead of referring to ‘issues,’ you choose how you refer to your work – whether that’s a “launch,” a “task” or even an “issue.”
  • Goals in List view update: Conditional formatting for Goals in list view in Jira.

Confluence:

  • Whiteboards version history: Users can view and restore previous auto-saved versions of Confluence whiteboards. These past versions can be easily recovered as new whiteboards, ensuring seamless access to earlier work and preventing data loss.
  • Whiteboards private mode: Enable private mode on a whiteboard to hide sticky note content and authors.
  • Company Hub: Customize a dynamic information hub for your entire company with Company Hub - a single go-to destination for up-to-date news and announcements, popular employee resources, and more.
  • Personalization of Company Hub: Customers will be able to set target audiences for set of cards or a single card on Company Hub.
  • New Company Hub layout capabilities: We are introducing three new layout capabilities in Company Hub. Links Menu will allow creators to add a prominent bar of important links to the top of the Company Hub. Spotlights will allow creators to highlight important announcements with flexible visual layouts. Sections will allow creators to add a full-width background to the Hub with or without nested content.
  • Jira Create Action in Automation for Confluence Smart Buttons: End users can automatically create a Jira issue with a click of a button from anywhere in a page using Confluence smart buttons.
  • Jira Issue Created Trigger in Automation for Confluence: Build automation rules in Confluence with a new trigger based on issues being created in Jira.
  • Automate additional Jira actions within Confluence: Create automation rules in Confluence that trigger Transition Jira Issue and Edit Jira Issue.

Jira Service Management:

  • Extended Virtual Service Agents: Empower teams by adding VSAs across platforms, including your Help Center, as well as 3P tools like Microsoft Teams.
  • 3P Integrations and Automations: Streamline HR workflows and trigger actions across Workday, Okta, and Workato integrations.
  • Trigger Automation rules from Virtual Service Agent intents: Seamlessly integrate Automation rules with intent flows in the Virtual Service Agent. This integration allows actions to be executed across Atlassian apps directly from help-seeker conversations to automate support requests and improve resolution rates

Bitbucket:

  • Draft pull requests: Code authors can mark a pull request as a draft (work in progress), preventing code from being merged until it's ready for review.
  • ARM builds in cloud for Bitbucket Pipelines: Customers will be able to execute CI/CD builds running on ARM hardware on the Pipelines cloud platform, enabling the building of images for ARM platforms.
  • Dark mode Option to switch between dark and light mode.
  • Syntax highlighting: Make code reviews easier by highlighting keywords, variables, and comments in pull requests.
  • Automated deployment queue for Bitbucket Pipelines: Customers will be able to specify automated queue strategies for deployments in Pipelines, resulting in the system automatically progressing paused deployments once deployment environments are no longer locked.

AI-powered capabilities that drive better outcomes

Jira:

  • AI work breakdown: Leverage AI to automatically break down complex issues into manageable subtasks, using relevant context from the original issue. This feature allows users to approve the suggested issues and create them inline or edit the suggestions before creation.
  • AI work creation: Identify and create work in Jira right from a Confluence page, without the tab-switching. AI work creation suggests tasks based on work context. Highlight text you want to turn into a single task, or let AI review an entire page for action items to transform into multiple work items.

Confluence:

  • Organize ideas by theme using whiteboards using AI: Supercharge ideation and collaboration with AI. Drive action forward after a workshop or retro by organizing whiteboard ideas into relevant themes in a click.
  • Generate ideas in whiteboards using AI: Supercharge ideation and collaboration with AI. Kick off a workshop or jam session by brainstorming ideas with the help of generative AI.
  • AI page catch-up: Get the latest context of work in-flight on any Confluence page. Understand the latest changes, action items, and most relevant comments.
  • Summarize a whiteboard with AI: Summarize your whiteboard with AI, then add it into a Confluence page to document your work.
  • AI work creation: Identify and create work in Jira right from a Confluence page, without the tab-switching. AI work creation suggests tasks based on work context. Highlight text you want to turn into a single task, or let AI review an entire page for action items to transform into multiple work items.

Jira Service Management:

  • Generate knowledge articles with AI: Agents can now quickly generate drafts for knowledge base articles using Atlassian Intelligence. The drafts not only save time for agents but also use relevant comments and other data available in issues to ensure accuracy. Admins can use this feature to streamline the process of creating consistent articles and easily keep their knowledge base up-to-date.
  • AI Suggestions for Incidents: Proactively generate suggestions such as priority, SMEs, or knowledge to guide responders and improve MTTR.

  • Allow custom fields as filters for create alert actions: For different alert integration types with third party tools, users can currently use only fields that have been pre-defined in the alert configuration for applying conditions for alert creation. This sometimes limits the users to use custom or user defined fields from the integrated third party tools to be used in the alert creation rules as filters. This new capability will allow users to use custom defined fields for different integration types to be used in the filter criteria for alert creation.
