How to Pay
We’re rolling out a new billing engine with an improved experience to make it easier to manage your cloud subscriptions. This means your cloud subscriptions could be managed on either the original or the improved experience. To know which experience you’re billed through, visit this page.
Atlassian accepts a variety of payment methods to ease the purchasing process, including credit card, bank transfer, mailed check, ACH, and Net-14/Net-30 terms when applicable. Read below to learn more about the accepted payment methods for each billing cycle and each payment option to determine which is best for you, or visit this link for additional details on managing your payment methods.
Monthly billing cycle
In the legacy billing system and new billing engine, monthly subscriptions must be paid via credit card or PayPal. Bitbucket Cloud must be paid via credit card.
When you add your credit card or PayPal details to your monthly cloud site, we’ll process your monthly payment at the start of the next billing cycle, and continue to charge it at the start of each billing cycle moving forward unless canceled.
Annual billing cycle
In the legacy billing system, annual subscriptions can be paid via credit card, bank transfer/ACH, check, PayPal, or Net-30 payment terms. In the new billing engine, annual termed subscriptions can be paid via credit card, bank transfer/ACH, check, PayPal, Net-14 payment terms, or Net-30 payment terms, while annual auto-renewing subscriptions can only be paid via credit card or PayPal. Annual subscriptions in the new billing engine are provisioned after the order is placed.
For additional information about each accepted payment method, read below.
Please note - While Atlassian accepts a variety of payment methods, cloud subscriptions paid monthly must be paid via credit card or PayPal. Bitbucket Cloud must be paid via credit card.
Credit Card
You can make credit card payments directly from the Atlassian shopping cart for purchases made in the legacy billing system, and previously generated quotes are payable by credit card from the Atlassian Payments Page. For quotes in the new billing engine, visit admin.atlassian.com/billing to make payment for an order or to add a credit card to a subscription. We're happy to accept Visa, American Express (AMEX), and MasterCard (payments via Discover are not available).
Recurring credit card payments can also be set up for monthly renewals of our cloud products. When you add your credit card details to your monthly cloud site, we’ll process your monthly payment at the start of the next billing cycle, and continue to charge your card at the start of each billing cycle moving forward unless canceled.
Bank Transfer/ACH
Payments can be made either by Bank Transfer (Wire) or ACH (US banks only). You can find bank transfer details and instructions on the first page of your quote. Self-managed license keys and/or annual cloud subscriptions are provisioned after receipt of payment in the legacy billing system, typically within 7-14 business days. Annual cloud subscriptions in the new billing engine are provisioned after the order is placed.
In the new billing engine, please note that Bank Transfer and ACH payments can only be used for orders made via Net-14 or Net-30 payment terms.
Please remember to reference your Quote/Invoice number on your payment – you can send your payment remittance to accountsreceivable@atlassian.com, if desired.
Check
Atlassian can accept payment via mailed check, however, please note that self-managed licenses and/or annual cloud subscriptions in the legacy billing system cannot be provisioned until receipt of payment, typically within 7-14 business days. Annual cloud subscriptions in the new billing engine are provisioned after the order is placed. When issuing a check to Atlassian, please note the quote/invoice number in the Memo line and send the check to:
Atlassian Pty Ltd
32151 Collections Center Dr.
Chicago, IL 60693-0321
PayPal
PayPal is available for all Atlassian purchases in the legacy billing system via the Atlassian shopping cart, or from the Payments page (when issuing payment for an existing quote). For purchases in the new billing engine, head to your admin.atlassian.com/billing account and click Pay with PayPal to add PayPal as a payment method.
PayPal can also be set up for recurring monthly payments for our cloud products in the legacy billing system and new billing engine. When you add your PayPal account to your monthly cloud site, we’ll process your monthly payment at the start of the next billing cycle, and continue to charge your PayPal account at the start of each billing cycle moving forward unless canceled.
For instructions on how to add your PayPal account to your cloud site, see How do I add my PayPal account to my cloud site? in our Purchasing FAQ.
Net-14 Terms
In the new billing engine, Net-14 payment terms are available for annual termed cloud subscriptions between USD 1,000 and USD 20,000 (pre-tax) – orders less than USD 1,000 don’t qualify and must be paid via credit card. This payment option allows billing admins to place an order for an annual termed subscription and make a payment toward the invoice within 14 days while the product is immediately provisioned.
Net-14 payment terms are not available for annual auto-renewing cloud subscriptions.
When billing admins are ready to move forward with a purchase, follow the instructions outlined on the last page of your invoice. As long as you meet the minimum requirement (USD 1,000) and don’t exceed the maximum (USD 20,000), your order can be placed using Net-14 payment terms. If you exceed the Net-14 limit, you can apply for Net-30 payment terms or pay with another payment method. Net-14 payment terms don’t require an application and a credit check.
If you don’t see this option available, please reach out and we can assist. Please note that Net-14 payment terms are not available in the legacy billing system.
Net-30 Terms
In the legacy billing system, Net-30 payment terms are available for annual Cloud subscriptions and enterprise* purchases of $10,000 USD or more (pre-tax), that include at least one core Atlassian product (Jira, Confluence, etc). This payment option allows customers to place an order for a purchase and make a payment toward the invoice within 30 days while the product is immediately provisioned.
When you’re ready to move forward with a purchase, select Net-30 Terms from the Payments page – Net-30 will only be visible on qualifying orders, and you’ll need to be logged in as the billing contact on the quote to access this option.
Orders totaling $50,000 or more will be subject to a manual credit check. If your purchase falls into this category, our team will be in touch as quickly as possible.
In the new billing engine, Net-30 payment terms are available for approved customers for annual termed cloud subscriptions of USD 20,000 or more (pre-tax) after a one-time credit check and application with a tax ID. Billing admins can apply for Net-30 terms during the checkout process for your annual quote or termed subscription. They can also reach out to request a link to the application.
Net-30 payment terms are not available for annual auto-renewing cloud subscriptions.
Once you’re approved for Net-30 payment terms in the new billing engine, any future purchases can be made using this option up to the approved credit limit, meaning additional credit checks are not needed. A tax ID is required when submitting a request for Net-30 payment terms, and multiple billing accounts with the same tax ID share the approved credit limit across all billing accounts on all open invoices.
If you’re approved for a specific line of credit in the new billing engine and want to purchase with a higher line, please submit another application.
*Enterprise products include Data Center, Premier Support, and Advisory Services.
